In the World Soil Museum of ISRIC, you can learn about the role of soils in ecosystems and society and get an impression of the enormous variation of soil types in the world, from the colourful volcanic ash soil from Indonesia to the man-made Terra Preta soil from the Amazon.
The museum displays soil monoliths – undisturbed soil cores – from across the world. Information panels and a digital map table provide information on soils and their role in major global issues.
Stephan Mantel from ISRIC will give a 45 minute tour through the museum. There will be two time-slots, the first starting at 8:00 pm and a second starting at 8.45 pm.
For questions and registration contact Luc Steinbuch (firstname.lastname@example.org). Luc will also be waiting for you at 7:30 pm at the main entrance hall of the conference venue to help you get to the museum by public transport.
